Be a young lady at least 13 years of age as of June 22, 2013, the first day of the State of Vermont Competition, and no older than 17 as of July 31, 2013
Be a United States citizen
Must have resided in Vermont for 6 months prior to competition, must be enrolled in and attending classes on a full time basis in an accredited public, private or homeschooling program with passing scores in academic and citizenship grades
Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization (contact the Outstanding Teen Coordinator)
Be in reasonably good health to meet the position requirements.
Be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the Miss Vermont’s Outstanding Teen program
May not be eligible to compete on the Miss level in the Miss Vermont/Miss America program
Must compete in all levels of competition below for the duration of the 2012 competition

Talent - 35%
Personal Interview - 25%
Evening Wear / On-Stage Question - 20%
Lifestyle and Fitness -10%
Scholastic Achievement - 10%

This year the Miss America Organization is teaming up with Children's Miracle Network to help kids in our community by raising much needed funds. Caroline has set a goal to raise $750.00. Money raised will benefit both Children's Miracle Network and the Miss America Scholarship Fund.
Children's Miracle Network is a non-profit organization that raises funds for more than 170 children's hospitals.
